ASNCOC March Events: Coffee and a Scavenger Hunt!

March is finally here, and hopefully we are finally going to enjoy some spring weather! Here is what the Autism Society of North Carolina Orange Chatham Chapter (ASNCOC) has on the calendar for March:

Coffee Gathering:

When: Friday, March 14th from 10 - 11am
Where: Caribou Coffee on the corner of Franklin & Estes Streets, Chapel Hill
What: Join us in the back meeting room for coffee and casual conversation. The coffee gatherings are a great chance to meet parents, grandparents, and others who care about someone on the autism spectrum. We look forward to seeing new faces and old friends.

Scavenger Hunt:

When: Saturday, March 22nd at 1pm
Where: Southern Community Park in Southern Village, Chapel Hill
What: Bring the kids for a fun scavenger hunt organized by the students at the Autism Society of North Carolina UNC-CHCampus Chapter (formerly Autism Outreach). Meet at the large picnic shelter in the enclosed playground at Southern Community Park. The AO team will lead the kids (and their caregivers) on a short scavenger hunt outside of the fenced area. Families are encouraged to stay and enjoy the playground after the hunt. The event is free. This was a great event last year, so be sure to make it!

ASNCOC has some very special plans for Autism Awareness & Acceptance Month coming up in April. Be sure to mark your calendars for the First Annual Dine4Autism event on Tuesday, April 29th. The Orange Chatham chapter of the Autism Society of NC is partnering with the Durham and Wake chapters for an awesome Triangle-wide event!

Also mark your calendars for a very special event on Saturday, April 12th at the Chapel Hill Public Library. More details to follow on both soon!
