New Autism Support Groups in Durham

The Collaborative Autism Treatment Center (aka the CAT-Campus) is a new multi-disciplinary therapy center located at 3209 Yorktown Avenue in Durham that was opened by the team from Let's Talk Speech & Language Services in Raleigh. They will be offering two autism support groups this spring through their Spectrum Services program:

Free Monthly Mother's Group for mothers of children/adolescents with autism

Meets first Tuesday of every month from 12 - 1 pm: February 5, March 5, April 2, May 7, and June 4
Share stories, problem solve situations, support each other, and share experiences and resources.

Monthly Group for Siblings of Individuals with Developmental Disabilities

Meets Wednesdays from 6 - 7pm. Session runs February 27 - April 3.
Group leader: Dr. Aurelie Welterlin
Cost: $240 for all six meetings + materials
Siblings of individuals with developmental disabilities will meet others who share their feelings and experiences, learn what it feels like to have a developmental disability, problem solve, learn how to communicate with their parents about problems, and learn how to develop their own self-esteem and individuality.
