Future Planning for Parents of Children With Special Needs

Future planning is a big issue for parents who have children with special needs. Who will look after your children when you are not around to do it? Will they be provided for, cared for, in a stable situation? Did you know that even a small inheritance can affect an individual's eligibility for certain services like Medicaid? Do you have a special needs trust in place to protect your child? First in Families offers a comprehensive future planning program called Lifetime Connections to help families make the necessary plans to care for their loved ones. The next session will be from March 1 - April 12, 2012. It's called "7 Steps in 7 Sessions", and the topics covered will be: Sharing your vision, Creating a home, Building relationships, Wills and Estates, Making a contribution, Ensuring choices, and Securing your plan. Registration ends on February 27th. For more information, contact Lifetime Connections Coordinator Eboni Blake at First in Families at 919-251-8368 ext. 102.
